Fans coming to Sonoma Raceway to enjoy the recent DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals drag racing and Ferrari Challenge races not only enjoyed the energy and excitement of these two events, but also helped generate $112,500 for Speedway Children’s Charities Sonoma, surpassing last year’s totals and making a significant impact for children and families in the local Sonoma community.
Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) Sonoma, the charitable arm of Sonoma Raceway, raised funds through ticket sales to Ferrari Challenge, a karting tournament featuring NHRA drivers, and a Nitro Night charity dinner and auction kicking off NHRA weekend. The funds will go directly to local Sonoma County non-profit organizations that help children and families in critical need through an annual grant program.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to have participated in Speedway Children’s Charities Nitro Night and Karting Tournament”, said This weekend’s NHRA Top Fuel Champion Justin Ashley. “It’s an honor to play a small role in something much larger than myself along with the motorsports community.”

Speedway Children’s Charities Sonoma continues to work to help local children and families thrive with programs and services provided by non-profit organizations within Sonoma County. Since 2001, the Sonoma chapter has distributed more than $6.8 million in grants to qualified Sonoma County non-profits dedicated to children and families in need.
